The launching of Youvea was very slow in 2008. The sales accelerated a little after the launching of version 2 (july 2009) and version 3 of the service in September 2009 (with the travelling effects).

The white label offer has for the moment a limited success (6 customers use this service). Our API services truly launched Youvea, with a production multiplied by 5 since January 1st. Over the first 25 days of May, we exceed the 2000 videos per day!
And it's not finished, as 2 great real estate sites are integrating our offer.

What makes the difference compared to the competitors ?

Scenarios with voice synthesis and travelling on Youvea

Great news for our online video creation service, with the introduction of 5 new scenarios, all including a voice in speech synthesis.

Youvea is no longer just a musical video production service like Animoto for example, but now can create any type of corporate videos; Voice synthesis has indeed many business use, especially emphasizing advertising.

Below some examples of scenarios with synthesis voice:
* An commented slideshow: A kind of slide with animated frames with one voice for each slide (in french in this exemple).

* A virtual tour (evolved version of the previous scenario, with several images by sequence, and a different voice to each sequence). Of course, you can use this scenario for other use than a virtual tour.

* And, finally, a scenario greeting card, based on a virtual presenter in a lively festive background. Undoubtedly the most original greeting card of the Internet.

Scenarios with swirl special effect

The scenarios swirl effect are, in July, those that are more ordered on Youvea. The swirl effect is here due to a winding of the pixels of each image in one direction or another, according to a random rotation angle, and according to a central point of rotation (random position).

To maximize the visual effect, the swirl effect must be quite long. In the examples below, it takes 2 seconds.

Pending the availability of our expert mode (in 1 month), the settings in this scenario are limited to:
* The duration per picture in the video,
* The duration of transitions between 2 pictures,
* Zoom departure,
* Zoom end.
For simplicity, in the proposed scenarios, we have limited zoom range starting from 40 to 100% (100% corresponding to the display of the image in full screen, and 40% to a photo that takes only 40% of the screen when it is displayed in full). The frame is currently in the middle (center picture).
The end zooms are now configurable from 100 (full-screen picture) to 300% in the center frame (with a zoom of 300%, only the center of the picture is visible and it fills the screen).

These simple parameters can already make very nice visual effects. Then we propose a new scenario baptized "double swirl", which is in fact a little variation of the full screen swirl effect scenario. It's zoom start at 60% and finish at 130%.

Because of a small starting zoom, you can see the transition on the departure picture at the same time as the transition on the next picture. If the 2 rotations are in the opposite direction (the direction and degree of the rotation are random on Youvea for these scenarios) the visual effect on the video will be even more pronounced. Another example with an image as wallpaper for not having a black background:

Encoding on Youtube can give an impression of jerky effects on our zooms. Can be solved by reducing the amplitude of the zoom, or alternatively by increasing the duration of the photo.
All these parameters (duration per picture or transition, zoom start and zoom endstop) are available in the tab selection "scenario", after choosing the desired swirl scenario, by clicking on the button "Setting this scenario."

Version 2 of Youvea is available since mid-July.
In addition to English, Spanish and french, Youvea is now also available in German and Italian.

We hope to soon add a version in Portuguese. Thus, Youvea will be available in the larger western European languages. And at the end of the year, we expect a version in Russian.

Youvea is almost ready for launch. Just a small bug fix in IE 8 (a component of drag and drop which worked without problem for 3 years on IE6 and 7 ... Safari and Firefox - just enough to delay us so.)

The news of the week thus:

* A German version (in beta - not perfect yet - we used Google translate ...) but all the screen frames are OK.

* A short presentation of the service in english, french, spanish and (in beta) in German. You'll find it at the bottom of th pages of Youvea (pages Who are us, Terms and Conditions, Pricing, ...)

* A choice between 360 free different musics. The upload arrive soon, but our target customer base is currently customers wishing no legal problem for their broadcasts.

* And above all, a function that will appeal to many people, an automatic upload function of each video produced, including free videos, toward the main video platforms: Youtube, Dailymotion, Facebook, Myspace, ... 10 platforms currently offered and all the uploads with an alone click (toward your accounts on these platforms ).
